BAe Sea Harrier FA2 Serial ZD615 (sold, February 2009)

Build number: 912054

The aircraft has been restored to static display / museum standards with a fully equipped cockpit, including a Martin Baker mk10 Ejection seat. A full set of external stores Pylons are fitted including inner / outer wing pylons and belly pylon as well as a set of Aden cannon gun pods and external 100 Gallon Drop tanks.

A real set of Engine nozzles are included which give the external impression of there being an engine. No engine is fitted.

The aircraft was built in 1986 as an FRS1. It was converted to FA2 standard in 1993. Throughout its service life this aircraft served with all 3 Naval Air Squadrons: 800, 801 and 899 NAS. The aircraft was the first FA2 delivered to the Operational Evaluation Unit (OEU) in June 1993 and was used for many trials including missile and equipment evaluations designed to test the true potential of this Fighter Attack aircraft. ZD615 is considered to be the most photographed Sea Harrier with many pictures of the aircraft taken during missile firing trials and photo calls now published in many Harrier books. While embarked alongside 800NAS harriers on HMS invincible in 1994 this aircraft flew combat air patrol missions over Bosnia armed with sidewinder missiles. ZD615 was last flown in 2001 having achieved 2408 hrs.

The aircraft has been finished with the 899NAS ‘Flying Fist’ fin Squadron markings and 712 intake codes.

This is a decommissioned airframe and many internal systems have been removed or made inoperative. It is externally complete and would make a Superb Business promotional tool, gate Guardian or museum aircraft.

This is a very rare opportunity and now probably your only chance to get your hands on a good quality static SHAR with a complete cockpit!

Length 46 ft, wing span 26 ft.
